SANY Ships SKT110Ei Autonomous Trucks to South America

On August 12, 2026, SANY Group dispatched its inaugural batch of SKT110Ei battery-electric autonomous haul trucks to South America. This delivery marks the manufacturer's first self-driving mining initiative in Latin America. Rather than supplying standalone vehicles, SANY is delivering a complete operational package that bundles the heavy trucks with roadside infrastructure, cloud-based dispatching software, and ongoing maintenance services tailored to the unnamed client's specific site.

The SKT110Ei operates as a rigid haul vehicle powered by batteries and guided by SANY's proprietary self-driving software. Developed entirely in-house, the technology stack integrates a drive-by-wire chassis, multi-sensor perception, and AI-driven decision-making. For mine managers, transitioning to these automated electric fleets helps mitigate common operational bottlenecks, such as severe deficits in qualified drivers, safety risks in hazardous haulage zones, and rising payroll expenses.

This international expansion builds on SANY's established track record, primarily in China. By July 2026, the company's specialized division, SANY Intelligent Mining, had deployed over 300 autonomous trucks. These vehicles have accumulated more than 13 million kilometers of travel and hauled over 41 million cubic meters of material. SANY, which commands more than 35 percent of the global market for high-tonnage electric mining vehicles, had its smart systems running in over 20 major open-pit mines overseeing more than 5,000 pieces of equipment as of May 2026.

The company is also advancing its hardware designs, having recently showcased the SKT145Ei at a summit in May 2026. That model represents SANY's first cabless, fully autonomous electric truck and utilizes a liquid-cooled, dual-gun system for rapid charging. The South American shipment of the SKT110Ei demonstrates that SANY is ready to scale these heavy-duty, zero-emission automation systems beyond its domestic borders.
